Getting Started

The first Orthodontic Office Visit

You can expect a complete and unhurried examination at this appointment. A discussion of treatment options will take place so that the doctor can prepare a letter which will be sent to your family dentist. This letter will summarize today's findings and possible recommendations for follow up and/or treatment.

It will simplify the process at this time for you to:

1. bring with you the completed introductory card we may have mailed to you in advance.

2. bring along related medical or dental insurance forms completing those sections that pertain to you and/or the patient.

3. bring along your on-line introductory form if you have completed it already.

Records Appointment

This forty five minute appointment in the morning or early afternoon will be needed in order to make study models, photographs, x-rays, and diagnostic measurements. Records will only be recommended when these additional details are needed to formulate a plan for orthodontic treatment.

Consultation

Dr. Judge likes to review and discuss with you one week after the records appointment all the findings and related treatment recommendations. This information will be helpful for all to understand especially the patient. With greater knowledge it is always easier for expected progress to follow on a timely basis. It has been our experience that most problems and slow downs of treatment affecting orthodontic care are generally avoidable.

Factoid:

Your family dentist assures a patient's ongoing oral health with regular preventive care. During the period of orthodontic treatment it is essential that regular office visits to your dentist be continued.
